Speaking and Listening
We believe that the ability to both speak and listen well is essential for children to be able to articulate, discuss and justify their feelings, opinions and ideas. They will develop the ability to value the thoughts and views of others, treating them with respect, as a vital part of their lifelong learning. Spoken language underpins the development of reading and writing so we will ensure that they are able to access high level language and vocabulary; a rich vocabulary will deepen their understanding of the power of speech and language, making them better equipped to articulate what they truly want to say.
